I watched a panel discussion on CNBC this morning. It was introduced as the Future of Healthcare. The participants were CEOs of health insurance companies. There was no mention of patient safety and quality, clinical procedures, patient care, mobile health, telehealth, robotic surgery, accountable care, or affordable care. Another missing topic concerns the 30-40 million people who have no health insurance. If we want a strong and economically vibrant country, we need a healthy country. Every person should have some form of health insurance. Thousands of people die every year because they are uninsured. I have not mentioned the word free or the words single payer. There are numerous solutions to the problem. It starts with a key question our political leaders have not agreed on which is whether healthcare is a right or a privilege. I did some research on this subject. Read about what I learned in Health Attitude.
