IBM logoWaking Up IBM: How a Gang of Unlikely Rebels Transformed Big Blue was written by Gary Hamel and published in the Harvard Business Review (July-August 2000: Reprint No. R00406). I had met gary at a “Revolutionaries” conference back during the height of the “boom” where we talked about change agents in big companies. Later Gary called me for an extensive interview about things that the grass-roots Internet team at IBM had done. Writers and publications like to find heroes and many times too much credit is given to too few. There were many heroes at IBM that helped bring focus to the Internet. If you would like to get copies of the HBR story, you can visit Harvard Business Online.
